Why did you create a sports range with spent grain?
The project to create a sports range began in October 2022, we wanted to create a sports range linked to spent grain flour given its nutritional contributions. We went through several stages of reflection, we asked ourselves which nutrients to take into account depending on each sport. The chewing time, and the number of movements required were also part of our thinking. We wanted to create energy bars that do not crumble so that they are more practical to eat.
We chose blond spent grain flour because it is rich in proteins and minerals. The interest in creating energy bars was to provide the energy needed for endurance sports while having a healthy energy bar!
Two recipes are currently available: Raspberry & Pistachio and Curry & Cashew Nut , allowing you to vary the pleasures and even opt for something savory during long sessions.
These energy bars contain our flagship ingredient: spent grain flour, which is rich in protein and minerals. Derived from the brewing of beer, spent grain is the part of barley malt that has not been used by brewers.
This ingredient is combined with quince paste, oilseeds and more specifically almond puree, cashew nuts and pistachios as well as a touch of spices or raspberries to bring a salty or sweet flavor.
Chia seeds and almond butter are high in protein, so these ingredients complement the spent grain flour which is also high in protein.
In addition, certain ingredients such as quince paste and pistachio help regulate cholesterol levels in the body.
And then we have vitamin C rich ingredients like raspberry, curry and turmeric. Cashew and pistachio, on the other hand, contain vitamins.
In short, the ingredients in our bars only bring benefits to your body and help you stay in shape during your sports session, whether short or long.
As you can see, our list of ingredients is quite short, it allows us to show that the product is natural and that it is also composed of foods that we find at home. All our products here are organic farming, so our bars have the AB label.
It’s an uncompromising snack combining nutrition, eco-responsibility, flavor and French manufacturing!
This sports range is therefore an opportunity for us to combine spent grain flour with a completely different product and to show the nutritional benefits of the flour.
